Of wanted to go down the.
Speaker B:The.
Speaker A:The hole of movies.
Speaker A:My movie hole.
Speaker A:If anybody wants to join, join me in my movie hole.
Speaker A:Ready the Armada, Kenobi.
Speaker A:I'm not a monster.
Speaker B:Welcome to Films of Black and white, everybody.
Speaker B:How are we all feeling?
Speaker B:It's a great Monday to be with you all.
Speaker B:Greetings from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Speaker B:The pan.
Speaker B:Not in the Panhandle.
Speaker B:So in the pan portion of Oklahoma, but here we are excited to be here.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker B:Marcus, how are you feeling?
Speaker A:They were called the Panhandle State.
Speaker A:I forgot.
Speaker B:I did not know that.
Speaker B:I literally just made that up.
Speaker A:Wait, they are known as the Panhandle state, right?
Speaker B:God, I hope so.
Speaker A:Panhandle.
Speaker A:Oh, that's.
Speaker B:Otherwise, I'm in trouble.
Speaker A:The Texas paint.
Speaker A:That's bets in Texas.
Speaker A:It's a Texas.
Speaker A:Whoopsie daisy.
Speaker A:Anyway, I am good.
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker A:Like, we're just here.
Speaker A:We vibing.
Speaker A:We have no plan.
Speaker A:We just here to have a good time.
Speaker A:Shout out to Brian Roush, our good brother.
Speaker A:Shout out Maggie Roush and the Roush fam.
Speaker B:Absolutely.
Speaker B:Absolutely.
Speaker B:Marcus, Big win.
Speaker B:Big win this Saturday.
Speaker B:Want to get your immediate reactions to the game, how you think it went, thoughts on just how the Yotes performed?
Speaker B:Because I know that football is very much a big part of your life, so just kind of curious how everything went from your perspective.
Speaker A:It was good.
Speaker A:For those that don't know, we have made it to the FCS playoffs in our second round now.
Speaker A:We beat Drake in the first round.
Speaker A:We made it to the C16.
Speaker B:The college, not the rapper.
Speaker A:Well, I mean, either way, we.
Speaker B:We beat.
Speaker A:No.
Speaker A:Yes.
Speaker A:The college, not the rapper.
Speaker A:The Bulldogs.
Speaker A:And then we'll go.
Speaker A:He's like, touchdown.
Speaker A:Just throwing tuds over Drake is also funny as because he's just one man versus an 11.
Speaker B:They're like talking on his cell phones.
Speaker B:That's such a corny joke.
Speaker A:Oh, my God.
Speaker A:Yeah, we made it.
Speaker A:We'll play Mercer this week.
Speaker A:I think the win was good.
Speaker A:The.
Speaker A:The win was.
Speaker A:I think that is a first.
Speaker A:Drake just won their division of football, and so, like, it was good to have this first round matchup considering the first time we played them, we blew them out.
Speaker A:So there's always those worries about you playing a team twice that kind of can throw off and, you know, you either underestimate, overestimate, anything can happen.
Speaker A:But I think it was a good game that eventually they picked up speed and momentum in that second half, really.
Speaker A:And we were really fighting the rest a lot.
Speaker A:Like, fighting the stripes.
Speaker A:Like, a lot, a lot more Than I was.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:What was it like?
Speaker B:A hundred and over 100 yards and penalties.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And it was just not.
Speaker A:It didn't feel very even.
Speaker A:It's just like they.
Speaker A:Yeah, they.
Speaker A:I'm pretty sure somebody made a complaint, but the yachts won.
Speaker A:They will go to Atlanta for the next round and then we will see what happens after that.
Speaker B:Yeah, for sure.
Speaker B:The thing that I was really impressed with because I watched the game on tv because snow.
Speaker B:What a shitty time.
Speaker B:Also really quickly.
Speaker B:What a terrible time.
Speaker B:Terrible to get a snowstorm.
Speaker B:Terrible is when your team is about to go into the playoffs.
Speaker B:Because I was watching the like the Coyotes football page and on Facebook and everybody was like, can't make it.
Speaker B:Does anybody want tickets?
Speaker B:Like if you needed a ticket, you could have gotten one pretty easily.
Speaker A:He.
Speaker A:Pretty easily.
Speaker A:It was snowing when we came in, snowing when we came out.
Speaker A:Like, and it was just snowing sideways.
Speaker B:Yep, yep.
Speaker B:Absolutely.
Speaker B:But the thing that I thought was really great is that the Yots were a second half team.
Speaker B:Like they did better in the second half.
Speaker B:So for those that don't know, typically the Yots don't show up in the second half like at all.
Speaker B:Like, usually it's like they.
Speaker B:They run up like a 41 to 7 lead in the first half and the game they win the 38 to 43, like, it's just insane.
Speaker B:It just doesn't make any sense at all.
Speaker B:But they played awesome.
Speaker A:They finished a full game.
Speaker B:They finished the game like they did not.
Speaker B:And I think that that's great to go into the second.
Speaker B:This is not a football.
Speaker B:Welcome to football in black.
Speaker A:Hey, it's whatever the we wanted to be.
Speaker B:But what I think is really great is they're going into Mercer, you know, six seed.
Speaker A:In their conference.
Speaker B:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker B:Pretty decent in their conference, but with a solid all three phases of football playing a really solid second half.
Speaker B:So yeah, they should be pretty jacked about where they're at.
Speaker A:And how do you.
Speaker A:Since we're on sports in black and black and white anyway.
Speaker A:And shout out to Doug, AKA Oklahoma because we just kind of hop right into it.
Speaker A:Oklahoma, how are you feeling about the Chicago Bears.
Speaker B:Look?
Speaker B:By no measure at all.
Speaker B:Does anybody expect like everybody kind of like is like because it's past the past like three weeks ago I was like, holy, the Bears are at the top of their division.
Speaker B:And I was like, they're gonna this up.
Speaker B:Like they're gonna find a way to it up.
Speaker B:Like they're gonna like.
Speaker B:Because they always do.
Speaker B:So they're gonna Find a way to mess this up.
Speaker B:And then here we are.
Speaker B:But I sent a screenshot to my father in law and my brother in law and I was like, right now the Bears have a bye week going into the playoffs.
Speaker B:Like as of right now, a lot can change.
Speaker B:But that was a great.
Speaker B:I mean, the Eagles are not a small team you're playing.
Speaker B:It was a Friday game.
Speaker B:Like, I mean, they.
Speaker B:I mean, I do not have any expectations.
Speaker B:So literally the fact that they have a winning record in our playoff bound is wild.
Speaker B:So, yeah, a lot can change because what is this?
Speaker B:Week nine?
Speaker A:I think this is week nine.
Speaker A:Matter of fact.
Speaker A:Yeah, I think it's also.
Speaker A:It's kind of.
Speaker A:It's kind of dope because I found this.
Speaker A:The head coach didn't know shit about the head coach, but he has this breakdown that he does after every game, apparently that I was really enjoying as a football guy like that used to be in the locker room playing football and shit.
Speaker A:Man, I tell you what, I feel like I'm on repeat heat each and every week right now.
Speaker A:I mean, I got nothing new to say to you guys.
Speaker A:Did you even waver for a second?
Speaker A:He lit, he turned up.
Speaker A:You knew exactly.
Speaker A:We had him right where we wanted him.
Speaker A:Gosh, man.
Speaker A:Goodness gracious.
Speaker A:Hell of a job.
Speaker A:Took all 60 minutes.
Speaker A:Golly.
Speaker A:And you felt it.
Speaker B:You capitalized.
Speaker A:Awesome.
Speaker A:Awesome.
Speaker A:Hey, let me say I got two game balls here, all right?
Speaker A:This will take longer than I was two weeks ago, okay?
Speaker A:It's how, bro, this dude.
Speaker A:This dude, he break.
Speaker A:It's the way he breaks down the locker room.
Speaker A:I didn't really give a.
Speaker A:About the rest of this.
Speaker A:Here you go.
Speaker A:Here you go.
Speaker A:I think this is fire.
Speaker A:Never let it run.
Speaker B:Never let it run.
Speaker B:Good.
Speaker A:Gets better.
Speaker B:It better.
Speaker B:Gets better.
Speaker B:College football right there.
Speaker A:That's.
Speaker B:It's.
Speaker A:It's the energy that I think you need.
Speaker A:And there's nothing wrong with having that college football kind of energy in an NFL locker room, because that's what they are familiar with, right?
Speaker A:You want.
Speaker A:You know, you have a Bill Belichick who's very stoic, who would never kind of do nothing like that, especially now with his young thing holding him down and he's losing a lot of questions about that.
Speaker A:I have so many questions about that.
Speaker B:Relationship, but can't go on top ever, because he's got to get tired.
Speaker B:Right?
Speaker A:Of the division.
Speaker B:Let's move past it.
Speaker B:Let's.
Speaker B:Let's move past it.
Speaker A:Why?
Speaker A:Why is he ever.
Speaker A:Why is he on top?
Speaker A:I have so many questions.
Speaker B:Hold on.
Speaker B:Well, I mean, I don't know, like whatever they're doing, but just switching it up.
Speaker B:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:So I think, I think that that energy is.
Speaker A:Oh, a lot.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Anyway.
Speaker B:All right, here's what I was gonna say.
Speaker B:Here I was gonna back you up before I was out of pocket.
Speaker A:Here I was gonna back you up.
Speaker B:And say with the way that I feel like the draft goes when you're recruiting kids.
Speaker B:When you're recruiting kids, right.
Speaker B:From college.
Speaker A:Young.
Speaker A:20.
Speaker A:20.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker B:I mean, what, the average age of Most of the NFL folks are like 23, 24, 23.
Speaker B:Like.
Speaker A:Yeah, something like that.
Speaker B:Between depending on the position and their level of talent.
Speaker B:I mean, they're used to a coach that gets that hyped and that is invested and.
Speaker B:And I feel like the nature of the game's changing a little bit in that regard because we're getting to this point of like, that's what folks want.
Speaker B:Like, that's what they need.
Speaker B:They need a coach that's a lot more hands on.
Speaker A:Your coach is also younger, right?
Speaker A:So, like, I feel like you're not seeing as many.
Speaker A:There aren't many, many, many older head coaches out there outside of like, Andy Reid.
Speaker A:There's a couple more out there, I'm sure.
Speaker A:But the more I look at, excuse me, the demographic of coaches, I mean, the LA Rams are having a great season right now and they still got that young coach he.
Speaker A:When he came in, you know what I mean?
Speaker A:So I think that that's also shifting and changing too, is like the.
Speaker A:The demographic and the ages of the coaches, too.
Speaker A:How the.
Speaker A:Did we end up talking about football on this podcast?
Speaker B:I asked you about the Coyotes, man.
Speaker B:You asked me about the Bears.
Speaker A:I don't know if we've ever talked sports this, this much on the, on the podcast that doesn't involve, like, Minnesota, who's in a different story, because they, I think they let go Adam Thielen today.
Speaker B:They did, but on purpose.
Speaker B:So they let him go because he chatted with ownership saying, like, look, you guys probably aren't gonna go the distance.
Speaker B:And I would really.
Speaker B:This is my last season and I would love to be able to sign with a team that is going to go with the distance.
Speaker B:And so the Vikings said, like, that's reasonable, so they waived him, so that way he can sign with somebody else.
Speaker A:That's a respectable.
Speaker A:Okay, that's way more respectable.
Speaker A:When I read the announcement that they put out, out of context, it was.
Speaker A:I didn't know what the.
Speaker A:Was going on.
Speaker A:I didn't have all that content.
Speaker B:I saw the Vikings release, like, a statement like, that's the one I read like Facebook or something like that.
Speaker B:That was like, after consulting with Adam and his team, like, we made this as.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:So, yeah, I think it's.
Speaker B:Yeah, that's kind of the way that I, I.
Speaker B:That's the way that I gathered and shout out to the Vikings for being respectable like that.
Speaker B:I mean, it's.
Speaker B:Especially in a season that really is not going the way that you want it to.
Speaker A:They had a lot of hype at the beginning of the season.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:And.
Speaker B:And kind of like undeserved hype.
Speaker B:But, I mean, this season was always going to be tough because the quarterback last season just played like, lights out.
Speaker B:And so you can't.
Speaker B:It's always going to be hard to come back.
Speaker B:But anyway.
Speaker B:But yeah, I mean, other than that, was able to get up to Minneapolis for Thanksgiving, which was good for a hot second before the snow came.
Speaker B:Got back in time, beat the weather, so which was even better.
Speaker B:And then were able to be a go and see Zootopia 2, which we'll talk about a little bit after Catch at Quotable, because I have a lot of thoughts on that.
Speaker B:And that is doing some bonkers numbers at the box office, which is really great.
Speaker B:But yeah, man, like, other than that, just, you know, doing well in Tulsa for the week and come back Friday and then, yeah, here we are.
Speaker A:Nice.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:I.
Speaker A:Before we get into Catch that Quotable, I feel like we'll end up in a rabbit hole.
Speaker A:I kind of wanted to go down the.
Speaker A:The whole of movies, my movie hole.
Speaker A:If anybody wants to join me, join me in my movie hole.
Speaker A:I feel like it kind of took a turn.
Speaker A:I started off trying to finish this anime to be Hero X.
Speaker A:And I, like, I had left it because they were doing weekly release and I was kind of like, all right, I'm gonna come back when it's all out on Crunchyroll.
Speaker B:That's hard.
Speaker B:That's hard.
Speaker A:Yeah, it's tough.
Speaker A:It's tough to keep up with.
Speaker A:And so I was watching that, but then I was like, I have a itching to watch something dystopian futuristic with a little bit of lore that, like, just a hair of lore that where I ended up was, was watching all three of the Maze Runner movies.
Speaker A:We had talked about this on the podcast about, like, watching Maze Runner.
Speaker A:I think at some capacity.
Speaker A:I forgot what we were talking about, but I had realized it's been a minute since I've seen it.
Speaker A:Maybe, like Three, four years since I've.
Speaker A:Since I've seen it.
Speaker A:And I'll tell you what, still a great collection of movies.
Speaker A:Like, okay, you get Maze Runner, you get the Scorch Trials and then you get the Death Cure.
Speaker A:And I think that the lore for Maze Runner, I had never read the books, only did the movies.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker A:I think Danny, I think that's Daniel o' Brien in the lead.
Speaker A:I really liked him as the lead, as Greenie.
Speaker A:Yeah, I think it has a good story there.
Speaker A:There's one thing I don't really like, which was the love interest.
Speaker A:The way that they shifted it and changed it and googling it.
Speaker A:They changed some of the love interests from the book.
Speaker A:But however great series, that series then led me to re watching Ready Player One for two weekends in a row.
Speaker A:Don't ask me any questions.
Speaker A:It's a great movie.
Speaker A:That's all I got.
Speaker A:That's a really, really good movie.
Speaker B:I. I have no.
Speaker B:I have no.
Speaker B:Look.
Speaker B:Ready Player One as a book is so, like, dripping with detail.
Speaker B:Like, it is one of those books that you read and it transports you there immediately.
Speaker B:But as a book, there's also some spots of this where it becomes the way the book is written.
Speaker B:It becomes very difficult to do as a movie.
Speaker B:So I don't want to spoil anything about the book, but there is a portion of the book where the main character, he's not like, going out into the world and experiencing like, there's no drama outside of the Oasis.
Speaker B:He's going to work.
Speaker B:He's playing in the game.
Speaker B:He's like, all of those things are things that he's doing while he's in the Oasis.
Speaker B:What's happening to him in like real life is he has purchased an apartment.
Speaker B:He has purchased the highest end haptic rig that he can, and he is just wasting away in an apartment.
Speaker B:Like, that's it.
Speaker B:Like, that's all that's happening.
Speaker B:And so if you're having to render a pretty significant chunk of the movie if you're having to render the.
Speaker B:A significant chunk of the book because you're doing it with CGI the way that they did it for the movie, which I thought was well done.
Speaker B:I thought the graphics in that movie are good.
Speaker A:Yeah, I agree.
Speaker B:That section of it becomes pretty hard because I know that there are a lot of like, diehard replayer that were like, this movie's terrible.
Speaker B:It's not original.
Speaker B:It's not like it's not good to the source material.
Speaker B:Yada, yada, yada.
Speaker B:Guys.
Speaker B:It's really Hard to do that source material.
Speaker B:I mean that, that source material has sections where as a movie it's really difficult to do.
Speaker A:I think, I think that's interesting because with zero context to the book at all, right.
Speaker A:When you, if you're just diving into this movie, I think it, I mean, once again, zero context.
Speaker A:It.
Speaker A:The, the access and ease of access to being involved into is really easy.
Speaker A:You know, there's a lot of.
Speaker A:What do you want, what do you want to call it?
Speaker A:Fan.
Speaker A:Fan favorites or things that are just for the fans of like everything.
Speaker A:You get a flash of a lot of different components throughout.
Speaker A:And I think that that's like, that's what I like about it.
Speaker A:The CGI is really good.
Speaker A:I think the story is good.
Speaker A:And like, once again, zero context.
Speaker A:Of course, you can only cover so much in this movie because I think it's already over two hours and it's trying to tell a honker of a story.
Speaker B:It really is.
Speaker A:While also evaluating what's happening on the outside of the Oasis as it focuses around him and his friends and the debt centers.
Speaker A:And so I just really like that movie.
Speaker A:I think it's.
Speaker A:I'm not gonna say underrated, but I definitely think it deserves to be.
Speaker A:I heard a lot of hype about Atlas and I have not seen Atlas, but I felt like it should have gotten that same level of hype that maybe Atlas got.
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker B:I don't know anything about Atlas at all.
Speaker A:The lead actress in Atlas, I have.
Speaker A:Boy, let me tell you this.
Speaker A:When I was watching Maze Runner, the actress who plays Bianca, I checked, she's 40 years old now.
Speaker A:And when she was Bianca at that age, she was two years older than me.
Speaker A:So everything is legal.
Speaker A:It's both bored.
Speaker A:She plays Bianca.
Speaker A:Her name is.
Speaker A:I think it's Sophia something.
Speaker A:She is so fun.
Speaker A:Oh my God.
Speaker A:And I think she was the lead for Atlas as well.
Speaker A:And so that's all I really wanted to say there.
Speaker A:But from Ready Player One, Ready Player One took me into the Edge of Tomorrow, which also is a good movie.
Speaker A:Once again, that dystopian future, little bit of connection with Tom Cruise and, and so like, and I realized I like Tom Cruise in that.
Speaker A:I, I don't remember liking him that much in that.
Speaker B:Tom Cruise.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker A:A good movie, good premise, good plot.
Speaker A:I think that that was a solid movie that really scratched the same itch.
Speaker A:And then somehow some way I ended up on one of my, one of my low key favorite movies.
Speaker A:I did also determine over the weekend that the Mummy Is my favorite movie of all time.
Speaker A:Favorite movie of all time.
Speaker A:I was going back and forth between Creed, Superman 2 and.
Speaker A:And the Mummy and the Mummy Returns because.
Speaker A:But they're definitely all in my top 10, top 5.
Speaker A:We can talk about that later.
Speaker B:The money, the Mummy, keep going.
Speaker B:I could go down a whole rabbit hole.
Speaker A:Yeah, we'll come back to that because I want you to.
Speaker A:I want you to remember that.
Speaker A:So where I ended my rabbit hole yesterday because I was on break and I was typing up papers and doing all that was Star Trek.
Speaker A:And I want to say this about Star Trek, the remake with J.J. abrams.
Speaker A:I think that movie deserved way more hype.
Speaker A:I know that it probably did well.
Speaker A:And I understand if you are a super fan of.
Speaker A:Of Star Trek.
Speaker A:Maybe you didn't like some pieces in this.
Speaker A:Like.
Speaker A:I'm not thinking about it like that.
Speaker A:I'm thinking like as a movie, that movie does really well with its pacing to get you the fan call outs and people getting to hear their favorite things, their favorite lines that they.
Speaker A:Damn it, I'm a doctor, not a fucking psycho.
Speaker A:I'm not a. I'm a.
Speaker A:Not an astrophysicist.
Speaker A:You get to hear all of these lines like punch it or beat me up or whatever.
Speaker A:Like you get to hear these things.
Speaker A:And I think that the pacing and how they get your favorite characters into the positions, you know them as happens really well.
Speaker A:I think there's a lot of that great dynamics between actors that show the great relationship between Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto.
Speaker A:I was thinking Tarantino.
Speaker A:Zachary Quinto, of course, think that those like those dynamics are also really good.
Speaker A:I think that Star Trek is kind of an underrated movie.
Speaker A:Lots of flare shots from J.J. abram.
Speaker A:That was very much.
Speaker A:He really liked those very much his shit.
Speaker A:But I really enjoyed that fucking movie.
Speaker A:And I want to say this, when I think back to when I used to watch Star Trek like with that beautiful bald headed bastard Patrick Stewart.
Speaker A:Let me tell you this, if there's one smooth on earth, it's James Tiberius Kirk.
Speaker A:Yeah, dude, James Tiberius Kirk is no joke.
Speaker A:And one hell of a captain.
Speaker A:So much so I was going to propose a question to you, Doug that I feel like is too hard for me to really pose.
Speaker A:Okay, so I have two.
Speaker A:And you can decide if you want to answer or if you need.
Speaker A:If you want to just bring it back to the next pod.
Speaker A:Okay?
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker A:The two James Tiberius Kirk made me think of these two things.
Speaker A:Name me three to five of your best captains of all time.
Speaker A:Or would you rather be Obi Wan Kenobi or James Tiberius Kirk.
Speaker B:That's a hard one.
Speaker B:Captains, are we thinking?
Speaker B:So captains.
Speaker B:My brain goes to like, like leaders.
Speaker B:So, like, mine goes to leaders.
Speaker B:Not necessarily like in a, like in a, like a naval or spaceship context.
Speaker A:I think I would go.
Speaker A:If they have a captain title in a sci fi, like in a sci fi movie realm, I will, I will give it to you.
Speaker B:Okay, so then I'll need a little bit of time for that one because, yeah, my knee jerk reaction is like, thinking about tact.
Speaker A:That's a good one.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker B:Jack's arrow's a good one.
Speaker B:Hard to argue with Tiberious Kirk.
Speaker B:Like, that's a great one.
Speaker B:But my brain also went to, like, then, like, sports movies.
Speaker B:So I was like, well, the guy who plays the captain in the guy who plays the captain in that movie with Denzel.
Speaker A:Oh, you talking about.
Speaker B:Remember the Titans?
Speaker A:Remember the Titans.
Speaker A:I would say, I would say that.
Speaker B:Probably doesn't count because.
Speaker B:No, no, no, not Sunshine Bertier.
Speaker A:Oh, yeah.
Speaker B:Oh.
Speaker A:Oh, no, that.
Speaker A:Probably not in this realm.
Speaker A:I'm thinking like, okay, Star wars or anything of that.
Speaker A:Like, here's the other thing.
Speaker B:Here's the other thing.
Speaker B:I don't think any of them.
Speaker B:I don't think any of, like, the Star wars.
Speaker B:And God, I wish Brian will have a lot to say when he comes back to this.
Speaker B:Is that like my Star wars lore is.
Speaker B:I can't tell you who a captain is.
Speaker A:Like, I don't know who.
Speaker B:You know what I mean?
Speaker B:Like, I don't know who a captain is.
Speaker A:Yeah, who was Princess who?
Speaker A:Not Leia's father, but yeah, I can't remember.
Speaker A:I have to.
Speaker A:I'm gonna have to think on that one.
Speaker A:Yeah, I'm gonna have to think on that one.
Speaker A:I gotta make a list.
Speaker A:I think that would be fun with Brian.
Speaker B:Yes, that's a great one.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:For us to think about the 8th.
Speaker B:Yeah, like, that's gonna be a great one.
Speaker A:I wanna, I wanna say.
Speaker A:Okay, would you rather be Obi Wan or James Tiberius Kirk?
Speaker A:And the reason why you think I place these two together is because I feel like this might be biased.
Speaker A:And all I know is movie Star wars movie lore.
Speaker A:Obi Wan is one of the greatest Jedi in the galaxy to me, hands down.
Speaker A:He took on, I think in the lore of just TV shows and movies of what I've seen recently.
Speaker A:He took on a Vader in his prime.
Speaker A:He took on young Anakin, Trained up.
Speaker A:Young Anakin was the best swordsman in my, in my eyes, you know.
Speaker A:Anakin went toe to toe with him.
Speaker A:He trained with Anakin, and he beat Anakin three times.
Speaker A:Technically, he beat Anakin as Anakin.
Speaker A:He beat him in the Obi Wan series, like, in his prime.
Speaker A:And then he beat him.
Speaker A:Technically, he beat him, I guess, as Vader.
Speaker A:Well, I don't know.
Speaker A:He let him.
Speaker A:He let him beat him.
Speaker A:Whatever.
Speaker B:The.
Speaker B:He was more of a message than he was anything else.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And he beat Darth Maul and he be.
Speaker A:So there's like, Obi Wan's got a list.
Speaker A:He's smooth as hell.
Speaker A:And, like, I think he commands a room.
Speaker A:That's what makes me think of James Tiberius Kirk in a lot of ways between.
Speaker A:So that's why I kind of phrase that question.
Speaker B:I think what's hard is my valuation is different.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker B:In a sense that captains to me have to inspire.
Speaker B:Have to inspire others to want to follow.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:And I think that that's something that James Tiberius Kirk does really well.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:Like, he's able to.
Speaker B:He has this certain level of, like, I don't have all the answers.
Speaker B:And that's okay, I guess, depending on.
Speaker A:Which version of them.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:Yeah, depending on which version.
Speaker B:Like, so, like, if you go with the, like, the Chris Pine version, like, I feel like that's very much a. I don't have all the answers, and that's okay.
Speaker B:Like, that's fine.
Speaker B:But Obi Wan is so you different because he had to do.
Speaker B:Because it.
Speaker B:You're evaluating them for, like, different qualities.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:Because, like, if I had to ask if I had to evaluate Obi Wan based on his ability to inspire other people to follow him, I think in terms of that, Kirk, Captain Kirk is winning.
Speaker B:Like, he has that edge, really.
Speaker B:But in terms of endurance, of being able to endure and stay.
Speaker B:Being able to endure multiple things happening to you over the course of your time and to come back better and to take something from it and to learn and to better yourself.
Speaker B:I give a slight edge, slight edge to Obi Wan in that regard because he loses his master Qui Gon, then beats Darth Maul, has to uncover the issues on Kamino while mentoring someone who is clearly emotionally unstable.
Speaker B:Like, he's someone who leads someone who's clearly emotionally unstable.
Speaker B:Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker B:All fight someone who he viewed as a brother, like, you know what I mean?
Speaker B:And then follow that on the other hand, of, like, survive long enough and protect long enough to be able to pass the torch to the next generation without any, like, fear or reservation of any way of any kind.
Speaker B:So it's hard because they're such different categories.
Speaker B:I think for me, in my leadership style and who I am, I think I would want to be Captain Kirk.
Speaker B:I think I would want to be Captain Kirk.
Speaker B:But I feel like I'm more of an Obi Wan in that respect.
Speaker A:That's so interesting.
Speaker A:I feel like I want to just go, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Speaker A:That's.
Speaker A:That's.
Speaker A:That's what I wanted.
Speaker A:And I think your evaluation is fair because it's from.
Speaker A:It's from your perspective.
Speaker A:And you said that my.
Speaker A:My version is if I'm.
Speaker A:If I'm looking at Captain James T. Kirk.
Speaker A:And I think for the sake of this conversation, since I'm talking about the Star Trek movie, I'm gonna go with Chris Pines.
Speaker A:James T. Kirk, like Captain Kirk, right?
Speaker A:Because I feel like the TV show version of.
Speaker A:I was thinking Picard, but I said Patrick Stewart, and I'm realizing that's Captain Picard, not Captain Kirk, but what's his name is Captain Kirk.
Speaker A:Here's the thing.
Speaker A:I'm gonna say Obi Wan one, because Obi Wan smokes pretty much everybody.
Speaker A:He go hand in hand with.
Speaker A:Okay, he killed General.
Speaker A:Thank you.
Speaker A:Thank you, General.
Speaker A:So I feel like General Grievous.
Speaker A:He beat General Grievous by himself, right?
Speaker B:He.
Speaker A:He beat, like, look at his catalog of people that he's whooped like that.
Speaker A:He's, like, whooped up on.
Speaker A:And he's still smooth with it, even through his internal battle.
Speaker A:In the Obi Wan series, like I.
Speaker A:Number One, I think, first of all, you trained one of the best in the galaxy.
Speaker A:You never got too involved in the politics.
Speaker A:You may have been maybe a little bit blinded by just trusting the Jedi, but you knew and stayed in your lane when it came to, like, if the Jedi Council said something, you trusted that or you trusted your mentors to lead you to making the right decision and just trusting that process for good or bad.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:You know what I mean?
Speaker A:Like, maybe he ignored some signs out of Anakin that he should have paid attention to.
Speaker A:Maybe he gave a little bit more, had a little bit of doubt in some areas that he shouldn't have.
Speaker A:Either way, I think that, you know, you can disagree with some of Ob's decisions, but I think Obi always put other people before him.
Speaker A:I think Obi Wan is the cleanest.
Speaker A:Now, if you talk about a.
Speaker A:Who commands the room in a cocky way, Chris Pine and his Captain, James T. Kirk, is very much a.
Speaker A:By any means necessary.
Speaker A:I think I know what's right.
Speaker A:I Want you to trust me.
Speaker A:Bring me with you.
Speaker A:He cheated on the.
Speaker B:On the.
Speaker B:The rules.
Speaker B:I know what's right.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:I mean, like, he's very much.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Two, two, and two almost to, like, as a means to an end of, like, I'm doing this for a reason.
Speaker A:I need you to do it my way and trust me.
Speaker A:Not really bringing.
Speaker A:But when he does have you on his side, you do realize you get those good partnerships between him and Spock and all of that.
Speaker A:That's just my evaluation of it.
Speaker A:My answer would be, I would hope.
Speaker A:I. I think Obi Wan is the cleanest alive.
Speaker A:And y' all know I love Mace Windu.
Speaker A:I think Obi Wan is one of the cleanest alive.
Speaker A:And his fighting styles, his confidence of, like, hello there.
Speaker A:Like, oh, this was the other movie that I watched that made me think of that.
Speaker A:The other movie that I squeezed between the Edge of Tomorrow and the Maze Runner was the island, which also had Ewan McGregor in it and Scarlett Johansson.
Speaker B:That's the movie where they're clones, right?
Speaker A:Yes.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker A:That's the movie where they're clones and they have to escape.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Marcus, I.
Speaker B:You not.
Speaker B:Somebody was watching that on the plane.
Speaker B:And I kept looking over.
Speaker B:Like, I kept looking over because I kept going, like, is that the island?
Speaker B:Yeah, like, and then I'd look away, like, I can't stare at his screen because, again, like, he's.
Speaker B:He's from here to, like, here, like, is where he is.
Speaker B:So I keep, like, looking over.
Speaker B:I keep looking this off.
Speaker A:It's a good movie.
Speaker A:They just put it on Netflix.
Speaker B:And here's the thing.
Speaker B:I kept, like, turning as if I was saying it to the stranger next to me, like.
Speaker B:Like, because I didn't want to see him.
Speaker B:Like, it was a whole.
Speaker B:I had a whole crisis.
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker B:I. I don't remember that movie.
Speaker B:I'm gonna have to re.
Speaker B:Watch it.
Speaker A:You should rewatch it.
Speaker B:I don't have any memory of it whatsoever.
Speaker A:I think it'll make you laugh in some places because you're like, look at young Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson.
Speaker A:You know what I mean?
Speaker A:And it's like.
Speaker A:It almost looks.
Speaker A:It's kind of eerie to see them now and where they end up and kind of where I do feel like they kind of pigeonholed Scarlett Johansson to be this beautiful bombshell in this movie in some ways.
Speaker A:But, yeah, I don't know.
Speaker A:It's still good.
Speaker A:I think it was still a good movie.
Speaker A:I vividly remember it in my data bank.
Speaker A:Like, it's in the back.
Speaker A:It's ingrained in the back of my head for some reason.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:And then Harry Potter.
Speaker A:So that was my movie hole.
Speaker B:Damn.
Speaker B:You went down.
Speaker B:That's like some of those things are completely unrelated.
Speaker B:Some of them are very related.
Speaker B:Like it's wild dude all over the place.
Speaker B:I want to say that I think in terms, in terms of adventure movies of the 90s.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:I do think that the Mummy, the original Mummy may be.
Speaker A:Nailed it.
Speaker B:The perfect adventure movie.
Speaker A:I, I, you know.
Speaker A:And you know what?
Speaker A:I would go on to add, to say I think in that same lane, the Mummy Returns is the best, one of the best sequels of all time.
Speaker A:For the hit that the Mummy was because they follow each other up so seamlessly.
Speaker B:Was the second one, the one with the Scorpion King.
Speaker A:Yes, Got it.
Speaker A:Yes, Got it.
Speaker B:With a terrible CGI scorpion.
Speaker B:Rock Johnson.
Speaker A:Yeah, that was, it was really bad.
Speaker A:It was pretty bad.
Speaker A:But that movie is so.
Speaker A:The Mummy is so.
Speaker A:The Mummy is such a classic movie from beginning to end.
Speaker A:The pacing of that movie, the delivery of that movie, your villain is really good.
Speaker A:It's not too one sided hero Y.
Speaker A:It's like I was actually scared of emotep for a long time because I'm like, oh, that's a scary to have a problem with.
Speaker A:You dig what I'm saying?
Speaker A:Yeah, I agree.
Speaker A:That's why I got that on DVD right here.
Speaker B:That's dude.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:So that was, that was, that was that, that was my movie hole.
Speaker A:Thanks for everybody coming to my black movie hole.
Speaker A:I hope you all enjoy it.
Speaker B:Well, that's quite the.
Speaker B:I'm so glad you gave us that.
Speaker B:I'll tell you what I watched on the plane today.
Speaker B:Oh yeah.
Speaker B:Before we get into catch that quotable.
Speaker B:So I watched Effington.
Speaker B:It's a movie that came out recently with Joaquin Phoenix and our man, Mr.
Speaker B:Fantastic.
Speaker B:Oh.
Speaker B:And it's set in like a small town in New Mexico.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:Oh, is that.
Speaker A:Oh, that's the new one.
Speaker A:And they both got cowboy hats and they Sheriffs.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Well, one of them, Joaquin Phoenix is a sheriff.
Speaker B:Got it.
Speaker B:I think that three years ago this movie would have been awesome.
Speaker B:It's not so great now, I, I think because here's the thing and it's not the, it's not the actors, it's the premise.
Speaker B:Like, the actors do an outstanding job.
Speaker B:I mean, Joaquin Phoenix is a great actor.
Speaker B:Pedro Pascal's a great extra actor.
Speaker B:Emma Stone is in it.
Speaker B:Like, so there's a lot that's happening there.
Speaker B: feels like such a snapshot of: Speaker A:Sorry, yeah.
Speaker B:There's a part of me that's like, everybody has Covid politics being online.
Speaker B:These are just some themes.
Speaker B:So it's like, Covid trusting the government.
Speaker B:Like, also weird family dynamics.
Speaker B:Like, so it's just.
Speaker B:There's so much going on in it that I just.
Speaker B:I feel like it doesn't quite deliver on the expectations that you have going into a movie with those two.
Speaker B:Not terrible.
Speaker B:Just.
Speaker B:I don't know.
Speaker B:If I.
Speaker B:If I were at home, I don't think it's something that I would re.
Speaker A:Watch, really.
Speaker A:That's interesting, because you.
Speaker A:You do get Joaquin Phoenix, which can give you.
Speaker B:I.
Speaker A:This is my personal opinion.
Speaker A:And also, I understand people call.
Speaker A:I told somebody today that I haven't seen the Breakfast Club all the way through, and everybody was like, but you're the movie buff.
Speaker A:I want to let y' all know I have come to the grips with that.
Speaker A:I love movies, but I love music more.
Speaker A:Okay, everybody.
Speaker A:I love movies that I like to watch.
Speaker A:I don't necessarily.
Speaker A:I'm not, like, the movie buff by any means, because I feel like that's unfair to actual people who dive into movies.
Speaker A:I like movies that I like to watch.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:And what I like to watch, as you just saw from my black movie hole, it could be anything in the world.
Speaker A:You know what I mean?
Speaker A:So, like, I just.
Speaker A:You just like what you like, and you don't put up a fight, Right?
Speaker A:But the thing with Joaquin Phoenix, I think, to me, he can give you a wide range of performances, and it can be great and awesome and amazing and over the top, all the theatrics and dramatics.
Speaker A:But then I also feel like he can give you something that is, like, I don't know, maybe I was expecting something different, maybe more maybe.
Speaker A:It depends on who he's across from.
Speaker B:What I think that he does.
Speaker B:You nailed it, right?
Speaker B:Like, you nailed it.
Speaker B:I also am not a big.
Speaker B:Like, I like what I like.
Speaker B:Like, I wouldn't call myself a movie buff.
Speaker B:Like, I think I've maybe seen a third of the movies that are on the AFI, like, top 100 movies of all time.
Speaker B:So, like, trust me, I'm right there.
Speaker A:Probably me.
Speaker B:But I do feel like Joaquin Phoenix does do this thing where he.
Speaker B:Like, where he nails.
Speaker B:Where he's such a good actor that there are some roles that you walk.
Speaker B:He's either one of two ways.
Speaker B:Either he's in a role that you don't expect, and he smokes that, like, he's like.
Speaker B:Like I think about when he played Johnny Cash.
Speaker A:Oh, yeah.
Speaker A:That's a good one too.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Or.
Speaker B:And I. Yep.
Speaker B:Or in Joker.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker B:In the first Joker.
Speaker B:Yep, Exactly Right?
Speaker B:Like, those are so good.
Speaker B:And he's able to go there.
Speaker B:Or what's the movie where he falls in love with an AI Is that girl.
Speaker A:Oh, that's.
Speaker B:Yeah, it's her.
Speaker A:It's her.
Speaker B:Her, her.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And it's just like, they're weird.
Speaker B:And you're like, I never would have thought that.
Speaker B:Like, I wanted this, but Joaquin Phoenix delivered and I love it.
Speaker B:And then there's these other movies like Effington, where you're like, this is a role.
Speaker B:This dude should smoke.
Speaker B:And it's like, he does great.
Speaker B:The movie itself just is sort of like.
Speaker A:Like Joker too.
Speaker B:Yeah, like Joker 2.
Speaker B:Yep, exactly.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:Where it's like, okay, yeah, you're doing a good job, but I don't know if I give a shit.
Speaker A:Like, it's.
Speaker A:It's like, it's not that you're a bad actor.
Speaker A:I think you got to work with partially what you're giving in the script.
Speaker A:And the delivery of a story is hard too, because if it's kind of like Jared Leto, you know, if you over invest, then sometimes it's like you're trying too hard.
Speaker A:And I'm not saying that about Joaquin Phoenix, so let me take that back.
Speaker A:I just think that his also playing across from Pedro.
Speaker A:Pedro can give you a wide range of performances too, where he'll be in a role that can be.
Speaker A:He might pick a role that's kind of forgettable and forgettable in a way, like, oh, this seems like the three other roles that you were just in before this.
Speaker A:You know what I mean?
Speaker A:So it's like, there's.
Speaker A:I think it's like tit for tat.
Speaker A:And if you don't have good delivery and when your movie comes out and the attention that it gets in that span, that's also hard.
Speaker A:You're fighting against a lot of things at once, Doug.
Speaker A:You mute it.
Speaker B:How's that?
Speaker B:Better.
Speaker B:There you go.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker A:Better.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:A lot of things that.
Speaker B:Where you were, like, where you have to, like, it has to.
Speaker B:It feels like all the things have to come together at the same time.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And Roman.
Speaker A:No, we haven't started.
Speaker A:Brian is re watching Stranger Things right now.
Speaker A:I think with Maggie, I. I'm not gonna lie to you.
Speaker A:I will probably watch this three years from now.
Speaker A:I just don't give a.
Speaker A:Unless I'm Watching it with Doug or with a friend.
Speaker A:Somebody makes me sit down over the holiday season and watch it.
Speaker A:I'm not gonna lie to y'.
Speaker A:All.
Speaker A:I will watch this three years from now.
Speaker B:I need someone to tell me where it gets good.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker A:Because can I skip?
Speaker A:What's the feel?
Speaker A:It's like Naruto.
Speaker A:Also, I want to say this real quick.
Speaker A:Remember your point.
Speaker A:I have been trying with Naruto.
Speaker A:I've been trying my hardest.
Speaker A:And I know that that's some people's top anime.
Speaker A:I think where they fucked up at and where I didn't have common knowledge to go into it is like, what were the filler episodes?
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:And I think that that's the same thing with Stranger Things for me is like, you had me through the second season, then you lost me completely.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Nailed it.
Speaker B:That's how I feel about Stranger.
Speaker B:Here's the thing, though.
Speaker B:That's.
Speaker B:That's how I feel about some of these.
Speaker B:That's how I feel about Game of Thrones.
Speaker B:That's how I feel about, like, Stranger Things.
Speaker B:It's like, at some point in time, if you're.
Speaker B:If.
Speaker B:My response is if somebody says, like, hey, are you watching Stranger Things?
Speaker B:And I go, no.
Speaker B:And they go, oh, you gotta.
Speaker B:It's.
Speaker B:It's so good.
Speaker B:Part of me is like, all of it.
Speaker B:Like, all of it's so good.
Speaker B:Because then I'm the.
Speaker B:Because you know what's gonna happen?
Speaker B:I'm gonna get to that episode, like, episode four out of eight, where it's like, that one wasn't so good.
Speaker B:Like, it's just.
Speaker B:I'm gonna get to it.
Speaker B:I'm gonna be turned off.
Speaker B:So, like, I need to see this when the hype train calms down, or otherwise I'm gonna end up getting to, like.
Speaker B:Which is what happened to me with season one of Netflix, which it was.
Speaker B:Season one of Stranger Things is.
Speaker B:I got to episode five, and I went, I think I'm okay.
Speaker B:Like.
Speaker A:And it was like, God, when did that.
Speaker A:That's.
Speaker A:That was so long ago.
Speaker B:That was a lot.
Speaker A:I remember the hype because it feels like the vibes just kind of have.
Speaker A:Maybe that was the vibes the whole time, but it was.
Speaker A:Season one was really horror, scary, spooky.
Speaker A:Then it just feels like it maybe turned into something else.
Speaker A:Don't really know.
Speaker A:I'm.
Speaker A:I just know y' all can catch me and ask for my review two to three years from now when all this is finally out and over with, when it's settled.
Speaker B:Yep, I'm the same way.
Speaker B:Marcus, we did not play a game of Catch that quotable last week and I do not want to forget it this week.
Speaker B:So, Mark.
Speaker A:Yeah, let's do it.
Speaker B:Let us play our lovely game called Catch that Quotable Cash.
Speaker B:Silky sounds of Marcus.
Speaker B:J. Marcus, are you ready for this week's quote?
Speaker A:No, baby, but hit me.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker B:All right.
Speaker B:Within my breast meat there is no famine.
Speaker B:No more sweets in the mammary cannon.
Speaker B:You are Gorgana, my eagle, my queen.
Speaker B:Your ovaries will destroy me.
Speaker B:Collect me in your wings.
Speaker B:I am just a man and I want to breed.
Speaker B:Together we will learn to love you, gorgeous hag.
Speaker B:You freak machine.
Speaker A:Okay, you know what it first made me think about that episode of Futurama when they all.
Speaker A:When all the Amazonian women want to like.
Speaker A:They want to fry.
Speaker A:And the guys on there for breeding purposes.
Speaker A:But this is a movie, so I'm.
Speaker B:Not really sure it is.
Speaker B:It is.
Speaker B:It is.
Speaker B:Okay, let's do this.
Speaker B:I'll read it one more time.
Speaker B:Within my breast meat there is a famine.
Speaker A:I. I honestly have no idea what this is.
Speaker A:And I don't know if I've ever seen anything like this.
Speaker A:You know what it is?
Speaker B:I do not.
Speaker B:I've never heard of this movie before.
Speaker B:But I will give you some hints.
Speaker B: ovie, Marcus, came out in the: Speaker A:What a range.
Speaker A:Why do you say.
Speaker A:I got this.
Speaker A:Roman believes.
Speaker B:He believes in you.
Speaker B:So this movie stars.
Speaker B:I'll give you some folks that are in it.
Speaker B:Michael Angarano.
Speaker B:Oh, dude, Jennifer Coolidge is in this, but she was in everything in the.
Speaker B:Oh, man.
Speaker B:I don't know.
Speaker A:I'm not gonna get this.
Speaker A:I'm not gonna get.
Speaker B:Just looking at the, like the lead, the top three cast.
Speaker B:I do not think that you're gonna get this.
Speaker B: Yes, came out in: Speaker B:I will give you the synopsis from imvb.
Speaker B:And you see, it's definitely not Pooty Tang.
Speaker B:A teenager attends a fantasy writers convention where he discovers his idea has been stolen by an established novelist.
Speaker B:Wait.
Speaker A:That sounds familiar.
Speaker B:2009, a teenager attends a fantasy writers convention where he discovers his idea has been stolen by an established novelist.
Speaker A:I don't know what this is.
Speaker A:I'm not even gonna pretend.
Speaker B:Okay, this is the Movie.
Speaker B:Gentlemen Broncos.
Speaker A:Oh, I've never heard of this in my life.
Speaker A:I've never.
Speaker B:Roman, I don't know why you thought Mike White.
Speaker B:Yeah, there's a lot of Steve Berg, Jennifer Coolidge.
Speaker B:There's a lot of people in this.
Speaker B:But I really don't think that I.
Speaker A:Had a crush on Jennifer Coolidge.
Speaker A:That was the first freaky white girl I think I've met in my life through.
Speaker A:Via the movies.
Speaker B:Huh.
Speaker B:Good to know.
Speaker B:Would not have placed that.
Speaker B:You learn new things every day.
Speaker A:Is that.
Speaker A:Is that Jennifer?
Speaker A:Jennifer Coolers was in Puny Tang, too, right?
Speaker A:And she was in Friday.
Speaker A:No, she wasn't.
Speaker A:She wasn't in Friday.
Speaker B:I don't know if she was in Pooty Tang, too.
Speaker B:I'm not.
Speaker B:Was not certain that they did a Pooty Tang too.
Speaker A:No, no, no.
Speaker A:She was in Pooty Tang as well.
Speaker B:Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker B:Got it, got it, got it.
Speaker A:Sorry.
Speaker A:Yeah, she was in Pooty Tang as well.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:I don't know what that movie is, Roman.
Speaker A:Sorry.
Speaker A:I. I'm sorry.
Speaker A:I know you believed in me, Stifler's mom.
Speaker B:I. I believed in you, too, but I also did not know Doug started.
Speaker A:Reading them names and was like, yeah, you're not gonna get this.
Speaker A:And that's.
Speaker B:Some of those were, like, the minute I saw it, like.
Speaker B:Because there's nobody who jumps out at you.
Speaker B:Like, when it's obscure, if there's somebody who jumps out at you, you can kind of, like, stumble your way through it.
Speaker B:There wasn't gonna be.
Speaker A:Jennifer Coolidge was literally in everything.
Speaker A:So that was one point that I would have been like, that's a foundation.
Speaker A:But she could have been in anything, right?
Speaker A:Exactly.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker B:100.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker A:Cool news for you, if you're interested.
Speaker A:We can't watch it.
Speaker A:I was going to do a reaction to it, but it's only available via Fortnite.
Speaker A:But Quentin Tarantino directed A Fortnight.
Speaker A:Like, it's a.
Speaker A:It's canon to Kill Bill.
Speaker A:Because Kill Bill is being re.
Speaker A:Released in the theater right now as a collective cut.
Speaker A:So all the way through.
Speaker A:Cut.
Speaker A:And so he directed a piece that is canon to the Kill Bill story.
Speaker A:Like a part of the extended chapter where Yuki, the character, Yuki, who is the daughter of.
Speaker A:I forgot her name.
Speaker A:But the bride goes and kills her in Japan.
Speaker A:In Tokyo.
Speaker A:In Japan.
Speaker A:And so this is an extended scene.
Speaker A:They establish.
Speaker A:Yeah, they, like, tie in court.
Speaker A:They tie in Fortnite pieces to it, so there's no blood, but it's like the Fortnite blue Stuff that they bleed and they drink potions.
Speaker A:They kind of it in there, make it.
Speaker A:Make it friendly to, you know, to Fortnite a little bit.
Speaker A:But he directed this.
Speaker A:It has a.
Speaker A:It has a certain animation style that is unique to Fortnite.
Speaker A:You can watch it through Fortnite right now, like, through.
Speaker A:In a theater.
Speaker A:You can go sit down and actually watch this thing.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:And one of the streamers I was watching actually watched it, and it was pretty fire.
Speaker A:I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker A:I think that that's such a unique approach and a way to move with the times.
Speaker A:You also introduce a lot of new characters from Kill Bill, which I think is a crazy movie to do that on Fortnite, which I know isn't just kids.
Speaker A:It has Fortnite's IPs gotta go crazy.
Speaker A:That gotta be nuts.
Speaker A:I think it's gota doing this.
Speaker B:They're doing this thing, like, where it's like, we don't care.
Speaker B:We'll collaborate with anybody, which is.
Speaker B:Anybody awesome.
Speaker B:Like, good for them.
Speaker B:But, man, that's wild.
Speaker A:Wild.
Speaker A:You get.
Speaker A:You're getting big dog.
Speaker A:Like, yeah.
Speaker A:I think it's crazy.
Speaker A:But if you get some time to watch it or you can find it on YouTube somewhere, I think that that was pretty cool.
Speaker A:For anybody that's interested, you can watch that.
Speaker A:It's pretty.
Speaker A:I think it's canon to the story, but, yeah, I thought that was pretty fire.
Speaker B:That is cool.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And I think we're gonna get.
Speaker B:And I think this is the first time that, like, we've ever had.
Speaker B:Where I've ever had anything on Fortnite that I've actually, like, given.
Speaker B:Given a.
Speaker B:About.
Speaker B:Because they've done these things where, like, they've done, like, exclusive concerts and stuff.
Speaker A:Like that one.
Speaker B:The Travis Scott.
Speaker B:Sabrina Carpenter did one.
Speaker B:Oh, did.
Speaker B:You don't give a.
Speaker B:Like, I just.
Speaker B:I don't care enough to pick up a controller and try to figure out Fortnite in order to be able to watch a concert.
Speaker B:Like, I don't.
Speaker A:I do agree with you on that.
Speaker A:You.
Speaker A:I do feel like you have to be on Fortnite or in Fortnite to an extended amount of time in order to experience these things.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:And me, personally, I am not.
Speaker A:It's not that I don't want to be.
Speaker A:I just don't have the game nor the gaming system.
Speaker A:I am.
Speaker A:I am looking to see what.
Speaker A:Yo, you know that little.
Speaker A:That.
Speaker A:That box that we was talking about, that gaming system?
Speaker A:$700.
Speaker A:It's.
Speaker A:It feels a little steep, but I'M trying to think of the balance of what you have access to immediately.
Speaker A:And I don't know like PS5 is 500 for like probably most basic form the Xbox.
Speaker B:The PS PS5 is a PS5 Pro.
Speaker B:That I feel like is 600.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:See that, that's where I was kind.
Speaker B:Of like it has more storage, a higher graphics card.
Speaker A:Do I want to buy a gaming system for 700 on the first round out?
Speaker A:Because I feel like there I would.
Speaker B:Wait a couple, I would wait a couple months but that's always been my, that's always been my position.
Speaker B:Technology wise though.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Anyway is like don't get the first generation of anything because Lord knows that they're gonna have to work on it.
Speaker A:So even iPhone.
Speaker A:And now we'll tell you this though, what's the name of the company, dude?
Speaker B:Steam.
Speaker A:Steam.
Speaker A:If you would like us to do a review of your product, would love.
Speaker B:For you to sell it, send us a machine.
Speaker A:We would, we would love to be proved wrong on why your first generation product is right the first time and not like other products.
Speaker A:Yeah dude, we would, would do great.
Speaker A:We have three different styles of gaming, three different things and we have a lot of similarities and crossover.
Speaker A:So if you're seeing this right now, Steam trust the films in black and white team to do our thing.
Speaker B:100.
Speaker B:100.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker B:We gladly spend some time with it and do some reviews with it.
Speaker B:Yeah, yep, yep.
Speaker B:Clip, clip it right there.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:I, I, I'm so glad it's 700.
Speaker B:I saw a quote that said $900.
Speaker A:At one point in time there's got to be a pro version of it.
Speaker A:That's got to be.
Speaker B:I would imagine so.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:But it's not a p. But you pay more for a PC though, right?
Speaker A:But it can play stream games and like that.
Speaker B:What I saw from Steam Labs is they essentially said like yeah, we're trying to create a compact gaming PC.
Speaker B:So this would be comparable.
Speaker B:If you were to build your own gaming PC it would be around 900 with all the same.
Speaker B:Which is not terrible.
Speaker B:Like if you think about it like if I wanna, if I wanna have a PC experience, but I don't know enough to build my own PC machine.
Speaker B:This makes 100 sense.
Speaker A:When the did PCs come back, dude, you remember like, do you remember like the towers and the computers and then we went to laptops and then we went to iPads and then we went to, you get everything on your phone and now PCs are sitting down and gaming on, on a PC.
Speaker A:Computer is back.
Speaker B:PCs have always been a little like out there.
Speaker B:They've always been a little like fringe gaming experience.
Speaker B:Right?
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:There's always been those people who die hard game on a PC but you don't hear about them much.
Speaker B:Like it's.
Speaker B:And I think that's just because the other big three, Nintendo, Xbox and PlayStation have dominated the market for such a long time that you don't hear about those others very much at all.
Speaker B:And they also don't do anything.
Speaker B:They don't, you don't.
Speaker B:The beauty of a PC I feel.
Speaker B:And if someone games on a PC please, like feel free to chime in, please.
Speaker B:Because I don't have a lot of experience but I don't feel like there's a lot of updating that needs to happen to your hardware.
Speaker B:So like what I mean about hardware is the box, the controller, all of it.
Speaker B:Like if I'm playing a game on a PC, for the most part the PC is the PC.
Speaker B:If I want to upgrade my graphics card, I'm upgrade, upgrading that component.
Speaker B:Like I'm not saying I want a new graphics card so now I have to buy a brand new box.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:So I do feel like there's some modularness.
Speaker B:That's not a word.
Speaker B:There's some modality with it that like you're able to say like okay, I need to upgrade, upgrade this piece, part of it, I'm gonna buy it and that's how I'm gonna upgrade it.
Speaker B:But for the most part that's probably why we don't hear a lot is because there's no flashy new release of a new machine that you have to play on.
Speaker A:You can, I think the entry level is, is kind of varied.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:You can start off with a cheap PC but you, you know, I think the other strength right now specifically is what made people go and sit at home partially in my eyes only.
Speaker A:No research, no nothing is the streaming component because you can do it.
Speaker A:You need to stream from something.
Speaker A:So now you can stream from your PC while playing the games that are on the PC.
Speaker A:Your PC is now used for multiple purposes now where you can do all of these things, make the money.
Speaker A:In order to be a good twitch streamer, you need to have a PC of some sort to do the obs, to have all of these components.
Speaker A:Components to be a long term strip twitch streamer or, or kit or whatever.
Speaker A:You don't have to have it.
Speaker A:But I think at some point you're a little laptop ain't gonna cut it.
Speaker A:You got to step your up and that's that's what they rely on.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:100 it's not updating your stuff like you said.
Speaker A:It's.
Speaker A:It's just getting a better system which might be.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker B:Marcus, I have two pieces of news for you.
Speaker A:Hit me today.
Speaker B:The first is so over the weekend and one of our like family traditions for Thanksgiving is we usually go out and watch a movie.
Speaker B:We were going to do it on Thanksgiving Day this year, but we decided since we had to leave early that we wouldn't.
Speaker B:So we saw it on Friday after and we along with millions of other American families went to Zootopia 2.
Speaker A:Yes.
Speaker B:I just want to do a quick little mini review of the movie when I, I really want to talk about is this is a huge.
Speaker B:This thing is a smashing success for Disney and I think in the long term it's gonna do.
Speaker B:We'll see what the drop off is to next weekend.
Speaker B:Especially considering that.
Speaker B:Especially considering that all of the families that maybe were gonna see it did on Thanksgiving weekend.
Speaker B:But I'm kind of curious.
Speaker B:So movie's good.
Speaker B:It's a good sequel.
Speaker B:Follows the same two, but.
Speaker B:But it also gives you a different perspective and also gives you a different story than you weren't expecting.
Speaker B:So I think in terms of like story and what they were trying to do with it, like, I think it's a great sequel.
Speaker B:It works really, really well.
Speaker B:So yeah, I mean, I don't really have a lot of notes or things to talk about.
Speaker B:Like this isn't like your typical Disney animation where there's like musical numbers and stuff like, like with Wish or something like that.
Speaker B:So yeah, it's.
Speaker B:Yeah, it's very good.
Speaker B:Like.
Speaker B:And so.
Speaker B:And it works really, really well as a sequel in terms of, you know, with some of the Disney sequels we've gotten, they kind of give you the similar story, but they put it in a different package and they go enjoy that.
Speaker B:And this is very much not that at all.
Speaker B:Like, it works really, really well on a couple of different levels.
Speaker B:So.
Speaker B:And it's just not repeating of the same tropes.
Speaker B:So yeah, I, I liked it a lot.
Speaker B:Box office Zootopia 21 had $158 million in just its US Open this past Thanksgiving weekend, it made $560 million globally.
Speaker B:So this thing has absolutely destroyed at the box office.
Speaker B:And so.
Speaker B:And the big area where it made so much of its money is China.
Speaker B:So China is the.
Speaker B:Is one of the reasons why that it has made almost half of the film's international opening weekend.
Speaker B:This is co.
Speaker B:According to Polygon.
Speaker B:Almost half of the film's international opening weekend take $271 million was earned in China, making it the second best opening for a non movie of all time in the country, only to Avengers.
Speaker A:Damn.
Speaker A:You know, surprise, surprise.
Speaker A:I just feel like we kind of said that on the podcast, right, that Zootopia would kind of go out there and smoke boots.
Speaker A:They said it's the top five releases of all times, I think, or something like that.
Speaker A:Movies of all time.
Speaker A:Just off the strength of the opening weekend, I. I have to wonder.
Speaker A:I mean, Bob Iger just kept saying that sequels were the way to go, and now that means we probably are getting a shit ton more sequels now.
Speaker B:But this obviously has a formula bias a little bit.
Speaker A:Yeah, just a little bit.
Speaker A:You know what I mean?
Speaker A:Of like, I told y' all that the sequels work, which to a certain extent, the first movie was good.
Speaker A:You're like, you're not wrong.
Speaker A:I'm comfortable.
Speaker A:I know what I'm going into.
Speaker A:And you know what?
Speaker A:I knew?
Speaker A:I knew that they invested a lot in this movie when they started revealing the voice cast, because that cast is ridiculous.
Speaker A:That cast has some WWE people in it.
Speaker A:It's got all type of voices and voice actors for these animals that I was like, huh?
Speaker B:There is.
Speaker B:Let's see if I can remember the people off the top of my head.
Speaker B:So Josh Gad is in it, and he's in it for two lines.
Speaker B:That's the thing about this movie, is he got paid.
Speaker B:He's in it for two lines.
Speaker B:Dwayne the Rock Johnson is in it.
Speaker B:Or one line, albeit a noise.
Speaker B:Not even like a line, just like a.
Speaker B:He made a sound like.
Speaker B:And that's all he did.
Speaker B:Steve Irwin's son is in it playing a koala.
Speaker B:The koala has all of 30 seconds of air time like on the movie.
Speaker B:The Macaulay Culkin is in it.
Speaker B:He plays one of the Lynx children.
Speaker B:But again, not the one that we're following around all the time.
Speaker B:One that's only there and maybe says, like three things and that's it.
Speaker B:So, like, the people who are in this, that they got that did this.
Speaker B:The.
Speaker B:The two WWE Superstars, Seth Rollins.
Speaker B:And then there was another one.
Speaker B:I can't remember.
Speaker A:It's Roman Reigns.
Speaker A:And is.
Speaker A:It is CM Punk.
Speaker A:Is CM Punk.
Speaker B:It's CM Punk and Roman Reigns all Marcus.
Speaker B:The only thing that they say is Z Bros. That's it.
Speaker B:That's it.
Speaker B:But they say it multiple times.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker A:Got paid.
Speaker A:And that's gonna be the toy that sales because that's the thing.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:These lines will be one liners, but they're cute little animals.
Speaker A:Their favorite voices that you all know.
Speaker A:And everybody wanted a piece because they gonna make some money off the whatever residual royalties or however the that work.
Speaker B:Oh, Hunter.
Speaker B:And these guys are.
Speaker B:These people are gonna make bank now.
Speaker A:You know where this is gonna hurt.
Speaker A:The Avatar, Fire and Ash.
Speaker B:That's the next ones.
Speaker A:That's the.
Speaker A:That.
Speaker A:That.
Speaker A:That's coming out this month.
Speaker B:It.
Speaker B:It is in exactly like 18 days.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:Don't talk about it because then we'll remind us that we got to watch it.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Which is.
Speaker B:I'm.
Speaker B:Yeah, we still have to do that.
Speaker B:So.
Speaker B:But yeah.
Speaker B:So shout out to Zootopia and shout out to the people who sign those deals because those are huge.
Speaker A:Cast me next time.
Speaker A:I just need a piece.
Speaker A:I'll make any noise y' all want me to and I'll moan.
Speaker B:I will do whatever you need me to do.
Speaker B:You need me to scream?
Speaker B:I'll scream.
Speaker A:I'll do anything.
Speaker A:But monkey noises.
Speaker A:Like, I don't want to do monkey noises.
Speaker A:Because that's.
Speaker B:No, that feels disrespectful.
Speaker B:You need someone to do a Jamaican accent call.
Speaker A:No, don't.
Speaker A:No.
Speaker A:What.
Speaker A:How is that.
Speaker A:No, no, no.
Speaker A:Don't call him.
Speaker B:Call me.
Speaker B:Call me.
Speaker B:I'll gladly do it.
Speaker A:I'm gonna cancel, y'.
Speaker B:All.
Speaker B:Yeah, okay.
Speaker B:That sounds right.
Speaker B: ng that are set to release in: Speaker B:Now, I know what you're thinking, Doug.
Speaker B:That's three years from now.
Speaker B:A lot can change in three years.
Speaker B:Yes, it can.
Speaker B:But let me tell you some of the things that they have announced.
Speaker B: w movies that are coming into: Speaker B:There will be a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie as well as a new Sonic the Hedgehog movie.
Speaker B:Yes, you are correct.
Speaker B:The Ninja Turtles movie will be a family friendly liveaction slash CG animation hybrid.
Speaker B:So it will be like.
Speaker B:It will be a.
Speaker B:The Turtles are CG and then in a liveaction world.
Speaker A:Oh, just like the last one.
Speaker B:Correct.
Speaker B:So, yeah.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker B:So, yeah, so they canceled the last.
Speaker A:Ronin for that, by the way.
Speaker A:I want you to know that I.
Speaker B:Know that they did.
Speaker B:And I'm furious about it because that would have been.
Speaker B:I would have gone gangbusters for that.
Speaker B:The Sonic movie is going to be based on the SEGA video game franchise.
Speaker B:And will be separate from sonic the hedgehog 4.
Speaker B:So it will be something in the world of Sonic the Hedgehog, but not necessarily directly Sonic the Hedgehog because it's separate from Sonic 4.
Speaker B:Like, it's.
Speaker B:Because they're doing a fourth one and it's separate from Sonic 4, but will still be set in that universe.
Speaker A:That could be anything because there's so many characters.
Speaker B:Holy shit.
Speaker B:There's too many.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:I still think they're going to Smash Bros. Route, but don't I ignore me for now.
Speaker B:I would also not be surprised.
Speaker B:And then the last big one is.
Speaker B:Hey, they're going to put out a.
Speaker B: ,: Speaker A:Oh, that's fly.
Speaker A:I like that.
Speaker A:I like that.
Speaker A:If they were smart, they do it back to back with Top Gun Maverick, which I still think was a top movie of the year.
Speaker B:I also agree, like, it was an outstanding movie.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:I do want to ask you this question, though, based on the news that I just told you.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Do you think something is wrong at Paramount?
Speaker A:Yes.
Speaker B:I mean.
Speaker A:Yes.
Speaker B:Why are you going?
Speaker B:Because here's the reason why that I think that.
Speaker B:And I'm curious to hear your thoughts as well, because why are you telling me what's coming out?
Speaker B: ja Turtles and a new Sonic in: Speaker A:I know.
Speaker B:Why do I give.
Speaker B:Why do I give a shit now for three years from now?
Speaker A:I think I know why.
Speaker A:I think I know why.
Speaker B:Tell me, what do you got?
Speaker A:I think that this bidding war with WB maybe wants people to build excitement about what's coming.
Speaker A:Now, I don't know a lot about the business and if this actually makes any sense, a difference.
Speaker A:But there's a bidding war going on and Paramount, with the support of the President of the United States.
Speaker A:Oh, well, you know what I mean?
Speaker A:Like, they want to go and buy.
Speaker B:They're Getting Rush Hour 4, so we should all have that to look for.
Speaker A:You see what I'm saying?
Speaker A:You see they announced that early as too, right?
Speaker A:So I think right after we talked about it, right after we.
Speaker A:Right after this podcast.
Speaker A:That's what you guys stay connected with us on all of our socials or just listen to the episode.
Speaker A:I think to me, you want to get people excited about Paramount specifically, either for your app or for.
Speaker A:To.
Speaker A:For people.
Speaker A:Like when the bidding war happens, what do you have coming down the pipeline to supplement Maybe the cost that you're willing to pay for.
Speaker B:Do you think it's like a valuation raising?
Speaker B:They're trying to say, like, look at how valuable us as a look at.
Speaker A:Our ips that are the most.
Speaker A:Which Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a popular ip?
Speaker A:Sonic the Hedgehog makes money hand over fist.
Speaker A:What was the other one that we.
Speaker B:Top Gun.
Speaker A:Top Gun is a smash hit that.
Speaker B: million in: Speaker A:And then the sequel also made Buku money and was went nuts on all of the, the movie charts and everything.
Speaker A:I think, I think you're setting yourself up to.
Speaker A:You want to prop yourselves up to be like, look at what we can do.
Speaker B:I agree.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Yeah, I completely agree.
Speaker B:So, yeah, I, yeah, but those were the two things.
Speaker B:Yeah, I, I, I think we'll see more as we kind of get going and as we kind of look down the.
Speaker A:Also, I hope that don't happen.
Speaker B:I also hope it doesn't either.
Speaker A:Like, I hope Netflix maybe, maybe Netflix will buy it.
Speaker A:Maybe.
Speaker A:Because I just feel like, because James Gunn, they put out an article or some quote from somebody from WB saying that no matter which way the merger goes, Peter Safran and James Gunn will continue to run the DC universe the way they will continue to helm the DC studios.
Speaker A:I think they will.
Speaker A:And because they also add at this point that Superman made them the most fucking money just from that one movie that I think that they don't want to touch it.
Speaker A:They gonna, they may put an agreement in there to like, leave these alone.
Speaker A:I think that they will still helm it.
Speaker B:That's fine.
Speaker B:My concern is, is that, and I don't disagree with you, they can re, they can write that language any way that they want.
Speaker B:I, I do think the politics of this make it more complicated.
Speaker A:Oh, got it.
Speaker B:Well, maybe, maybe, you know, like, yeah, they decide to make that.
Speaker B:They decide to make Batman black.
Speaker B:And then our, you know, in chief is like, black Batman.
Speaker B:Now we'll never see him or some dumbass like that.
Speaker A:Why did you say that?
Speaker B:Because that's how that.
Speaker A:No, thanks.
Speaker A:No, he doesn't.
Speaker A:He loves Rush Hour.
Speaker A:There's a black guy in that.
Speaker B:Yeah, doing, doing, doing awful.
Speaker B:Saying terrible things.
Speaker B:So what is he gonna do?
Speaker B:Have Batman only go to impoverished neighborhoods and beat up the people stealing bed to freed their family?
Speaker A:By the way.
Speaker B:I don't want to watch, I don't want to watch a Batman who shows up to a coffee when some guy's like, yeah, I don't think the president's doing a good job.
Speaker A:Not in Gotham City.
Speaker B:Like, it punches him out.
Speaker B:Like, I don't want to say see that at all.
Speaker A:F fascist man.
Speaker A:F fascist Batman.
Speaker B:Fascist Batman.
Speaker A:No, no, you're right.
Speaker A:And I.
Speaker B:Why we burn all the books?
Speaker B:Like, no, Batman.
Speaker B:That's not what we do at all.
Speaker A:F451 Batman.
Speaker A:This is CR.
Speaker B:Jesus.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:I do not want that at all.
Speaker A:I'd rather take black Batman.
Speaker A:Jesus Christ.
Speaker B:Yeah, I'd take anything over that.
Speaker B:So.
Speaker B:Yeah, I'd take anything over that.
Speaker A:Yeah, I think.
Speaker B:I think.
Speaker A:I think you're right.
Speaker A:I think it'll be a matter of if James Gunn and Peter Safran feel like they can run under that company and that leadership and how much that they try to impede upon.
Speaker A:Oh, like their creative flow.
Speaker A:Because there was nothing super.
Speaker A:Depending on who you ask, there was nothing super progressive, political, or woke about Superman, that movie.
Speaker B:I don't think so.
Speaker B:I don't.
Speaker A:I don't think so at all.
Speaker B:And so I've watched it twice.
Speaker B:Once in theater and once at home.
Speaker B:And I don't remember there being anything that was like, oh, there it is.
Speaker A:Like, directly enough that somebody would pick it up.
Speaker A:Maybe there's underlying things that you have to actually watch a movie and understand dialogue and people, people to get those dynamics and themes.
Speaker A:But I don't think there was anything in that that made her.
Speaker A:They called Superman woke before the movie even came out.
Speaker A:Like, those people don't know what the.
Speaker A:Is going on, you know, I mean.
Speaker B:Yeah, I mean, and I. I remember it was all the immigrant stuff, remember?
Speaker B:Because somebody asked James Gunn and he was like, well, he is an immigrant.
Speaker A:Like, and which is true.
Speaker B:Which is, yes, by definition, is 100 accurate.
Speaker A:Being stupid.
Speaker B:Yeah, let's.
Speaker B:Let's.
Speaker B:Let's look up words before we use them.
Speaker B:Everybody, like you have some in your pocket called a phone.
Speaker B:Your phone is a dictionary.
Speaker B:Just look that up.
Speaker A:I googled three words today.
Speaker A:That was my greatest achievement.
Speaker B:Yeah, absolutely, Marcus.
Speaker B:That's all that I have.
Speaker B:So anything else that you have for the pod today?
Speaker A:That's all I got.
Speaker A:This is a good episode, brother.
Speaker B:This was outstanding.
Speaker B:Marcus, what do you have to plug?
Speaker A:You want to make sure that you go to the lovenerds.com.
Speaker A:oh, I gotta go back to the banner.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Make sure you go visit thelovenerds.com T-H-E-L-O-V-E-N-E-R--s.com.
Speaker A:you can also visit etsy.com backslash shop backslash thelove nerds right now.
Speaker A:Also shout out bubbler.
Speaker A:Also make sure you follow the mantra never offended, always humble.
Speaker A:I am working on some new big Texas merch right now.
Speaker A:That's all that I'm going to say.
Speaker A:Also I think I'm going to drop a song on my birthday that's going to be next week.
Speaker A:So potentially I will make a decision tomorrow to put out Tahitian treat on my birthday or the week of my birthday.
Speaker A:But until then I also might do a pop up pot the weekend of my birthday too as well.
Speaker A:So you never know what you're going to see up here.
Speaker A:We might get all the music musical violations, but we're gonna find out.
Speaker A:But whatever you do, follow the mantra never offended, always humble.
Speaker B:You dig?
Speaker B:Absolutely.
Speaker B:Hey, if you enjoyed our laid back pod today, recommend us to a friend or a family member.

Speaker B:Consider signing up for a tier there.
Speaker B:Know that the tiers are going to change as we get from season six into season seven tweaking and have some things coming as when we launch season seven.
Speaker B:So excited to do that, Marcus.
Speaker B:We have a three step subset process to success and that first step is read a book.
Speaker B:Read a book, y'.
Speaker A:All.
Speaker B:Find a book that you enjoy.
Speaker B:Find a book that you want to like, whether it's read physically, listen to an audiobook, whatever it is.
Speaker B:I have a great series that I've been listening to that I have been just absolutely loving.
Speaker B:So find something that speaks to you and just read a book.
Speaker B:Enjoy the time while you're indoors and being cold.
Speaker B:Marcus.
Speaker B:What's that second step?
Speaker A:Make sure you drink some water.
Speaker A:My dog.
Speaker A:I got me a nice thing of schmad water right here.
Speaker A:So make sure you drink yourself some of the good stuff.
Speaker A:Treat your body well.
Speaker A:Treat your body right.
Speaker A:It's the winter time.
Speaker A:Ash will sneak up on you.
Speaker A:It'll crack your elbows, crack your lips, crack your dick if, if you have it or whatever the equivalent of those pieces are.
Speaker A:Just drink your water.
Speaker B:I don't think I have the scientific background to be able to speak to that at all.
Speaker A:Yeah, neither do I.
Speaker B:Do not crack your feet.
Speaker B:For sure.
Speaker B:Got cracked feet.
Speaker B:Look.
Speaker B:Also, you're gonna be spending time inside because it's cold as hell.
Speaker B:It's 11 degrees in vermilion right now.
Speaker B:So like it's gonna be cold.
Speaker B:Make sure you wash your ass.
Speaker B:Like, make sure that you're getting clean so that people feel like they don't have to be around you inside with the stank.
Speaker B:So, like, just please wash your ass.
Speaker B:It's important.
Speaker B:Your body will thank you.
Speaker B:Your friends and family will thank you.
Speaker B:But, yeah, just.
Speaker B:Just wash your.
Speaker B:Your ass.
Speaker B:So that does it for this week's episode of Films of Black and White.
Speaker B:We'll be back next week with another outstanding episode of the pod.
Speaker B:But in the meantime, in the between time, stay safe, stay healthy.
Speaker B:We love y'.
